On the northeast side of Livermore, the Arroyo Las Positas travels along much of the I-580 corridor as it heads through the valley.
Adjacent to Northfront Trailhead Park, this arroyo is perpendicular to Northfront Road. A public-use asphalt trail runs next to the arroyo, adjoining nearby neighborhoods to the Northfront Road area.
The Arroyo Las Positas is a main stream through the north side of town. In the Northfront Road area, the impacts on the arroyo from human activity range from trash generated by the nearby park use, the freeway/roadway traffic, and adjoining neighborhoods. The relative isolation of this section of the arroyo can also be an attractant for vandalism and graffiti.
Limited parking is available at the Northfront Trailhead Park, accessed on the north side of Northfront Road, between Vasco Road and Herman Avenue.
